Taco Tuesday

Tacos. What could be better?

Maybe puppies....but still.

The other day the boy and I made these delicious tacos. Here's what we did....

First we barbecued up some tilapia, shrimp, and steak. Then we made a sauce out of soy sauce, orange juice, and lime juice and brushed it on the meats while they cooked. Salivating yet?
Then of course we had the fillings: avocado, onions, lime (for the juice), cheese, and red cabbage.

And of course, we had to make some margaritas as well. You just can't do tacos without the margarita!!

Little tip- We actually had this meal on a Friday and not a Tuesday...but the fun still stands because it can also be called Fish Taco Friday. I do not recommend having this meal on any other day. Taco Thursday or Wednesday have no ring to them and I'm sure you'll just end up disappointed. NO ONE WANTS THAT!!

Terrible Two's

Today is a very important day.

No. I'm not talking about the start of school.

Today is Ellie Beans Birthday!! She turns 2 today. (or 14 in people years if you count it like that)

I love my dog more than words can describe. She is a giant goofy spaz and somehow always knows how to lift my spirits when I'm feeling down. She makes every day on this earth better and I love her so soo sooooo much!! I can't believe that just a couple years ago I was driving down to the shelter to "see" if this puppy would be a fit for me. Little did I know that she would end up being PERFECT!!

Having a pet is a giant responsibility. But if you do some research and know what you're getting into then I couldn't recommend it more.

Ellie Bean brightens every day and I am so blessed to have her as a part of my life.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLIE BEAN!!

The Summer List-Results

Well this is my last week before I head back to class and give myself away to my studies. Gone will be the days of watching Regis and Kelly while lazily sipping cappuccino. I have a busy weekend in store full of fun activities to get me ready to buckle down and get to learning!

Weather wise the summer isn't over quite yet so I suppose I have a little opportunity for a little fun.....but study wise....this is the end.

So it's time to revisit the list of things I wanted to do this summer and see how i did!

1. Go through my Nikon book and complete all assignments.

My goal here was to get myself accustomed to the professional modes on my camera and get away from using the auto modes. This has been a SUCCESS! I am now more comfortable with my manual mode than any of the other modes. I love it because it makes me feel like I did when I staring photographing with my 35mm in high school.

Success!

2. Get a fishing license.

Success!

3. Catch a fish.

4. Go hiking. A lot.

I think I did VERY well with this one! I went on many hikes during our camping trips and then there was that awesome 12 mile hike I did up to Blackmore!

Success!

5. Start my Shakespeare book.

Success!

6. Go to the midnight premiere of the last Harry Potter.

I went with my bff Jocie and we dressed up as....wait for it.....

WIZARDS DRESSED AS MUGGLES!! Seriously could I be a bigger nerd??

This was a SUCCESS!!

7. Get a job.

Ummm....yeah. Let's just say I had a great summer full of lot's of free time which I used to have fun and sleep in....yeah..

Fail.

8. Learn to play a song on my harmonica.

Sorry to put you all through that. Hopefully I'll get better with a bit more practice!

SUCCESS!!

Well there you go folks! That's how I did with my summer. Did you all complete everything you wanted to do??

Friends and Flirtinis

On monday my boy and I did something unusual....we went OUT! I even put on a nice dress for the occasion!

We met up with some friends at a swanky bar in Bozeman called Plonk and had some fancy drinks. Luckily the weather was gorgeous so we got to sit outside on their back patio which is beautiful. It makes you feel like you are in a whole other world!

My favorite drink to get is the flirtini. It's pink, delicious AND really fun to say!

Everyone always laughs at me a little when I order it but the heart wants what it wants ya know?? (The drink pictured is not actually flirtini as that picture is on my phone and I can't seem to get it off)

It was so great to get a night away from the house to enjoy good drinks and great people.

Rope Swing Wednesday

So here's the dealio folks,

I start school next week. I've had a lot of fun sharing these rope pics with you but summer is sadly coming to a close. I don;t think anyone wants to have reminders of the stuff they CAN'T do over the next few weeks as class is starting and we're all getting back to the grind so I am going to go ahead and retire this feature.....
At least until flowers start poking their heads out again.

Now, rather than try and decide my favorite picture, (which would be impossible) I have decided to do a post with ALL my rope swing pictures. Or at least the ones from my flickr account.

I hope you all have enjoyed this feature over the summer. Thanks for letting me share with you.

Now get to studying!!

The Weekend

This weekend I enjoyed; healthy snacks, puppy sitting, unhealthy drinks, reading that is NOT required for school, gorgeous weather and new town events.

I hope everyone else had a good weekend as well.

(Note the fact that Romeo and Juliet is titled as a TRAGEDY folks)

Story Under The Stars!

Last night the Boyfriend and I checked out a new event here in Bozeman. Well, new to us.

It's called Story Under The Stars. Basically it's an outdoor film screening on the lawn of this big awesome mansion in town. We locals call it the "Story Mansion" because that's the name of the family that owned it.

Now you understand the full cleverness of the events name. See it's the name of the location AND we were watching a film STORY!

This event was boss.

The boyfriend and I cuddled under our blanket, had some drinks and ice cream and enjoyed the movie "American Graffiti". I had never seen this movie before and let me tell you it was GREAT!

Here are some of my thoughts on the night:
  • Oldies music is boss
  • The adjective "boss" needs to be used far more often in my vocabulary
  • While I love Ron Howard, his character was kind of a skeez
  • Next time bring chips
  • Old cars are also boss
  • Every nerd deserves a bodacious blonde babe
  • Even in the 70's college was a hard decision
  • NEVER get into cars with strangers. Even if they are Harrison Ford
  • Cuddling on a blanket under the stars may just be the most romantic thing ever
We are most definitely checking out West Side Story next week!!
